About TREEDC
Tennessee Renewable Energy & Economic Development Council (TREEDC) is a statewide network of 101 city and county mayors and businesses working together to create a path to fast-track renewables in Tennessee.
Mission
To promote and connect renewable energy with economic development and energy efficiency for all Tennessee communities.
Statewide Biofuels Community Outreach Education Activities
As a part of this biofuels education program the Council proposes to develop a mobile biofuels classroom on wheels that will contain demonstrations that will show in a hands-on way how biofuels are created and distributed. The mobile classroom shall be scheduled for widespread exposure at schools, fairs, 4-H, FFA and cooperative extension meetings to provide hands-on demonstrations and training across the state. The system will be used to educate youth, farmers, ordinary citizens, educators, as well as city, state and local officials across the state.
Biofuels education is necessary in order to facilitate the development of new markets and feedstock in rural Tennessee. The Council proposes to plan, coordinate and implement grassroots biofuels education to promote rural economic development across the state.
